Not Enough Support On Social Media Leads To Another Attack In London
London, England – Police have just responded to a vehicle that collided with pedestrians in the Finsbury Park area of north London. A number of casualties have been reported already, as a van careened onto the sidewalk, hitting a number of people. Officers are investigating whether the collision was accident or deliberate and it is understood that in the initial aftermath of the incident, armed officers were deployed, as a precaution. This incident comes after two similar attacks occurred in London earlier this year.
Prime Minister Theresa May has publicly called for citizens to increase their activity on social media. She believes that the extremist attacks will only subside after an enthusiastic response from Facebook and Twitter users. In a tweet earlier today, May outlined her plan for going forward.
Facebook has already added a “PrayForLondon” emoji and plans on providing a Union Jack overlay for profile pictures.
